This idea works great when you are in the early transition to a more church family-based yotth ministry.  Order one of those funeral flower bouquets and place it in a central part of the church one Sunday morning.  Use this display to explain to the entire church family that the previous way your church has done youth ministry is now dead.  Instead of operating as an appendage to the church family, the youth ministry is going to be a part of the church family. 

On what may be a lonely day of year or widows, I helped our teens make homemade valentines for the widows in our church family. It helped that Valentine's Day is on a Sunday this year.

A Chrismon is an ornament for a Christmas tree that symbolizes a name of Christ.  The name Chrismon comes from Christ + monogram. We decorate a tree in the worship center with white Christmas lights.  The white lights symbolizes Christ as the light of the world.  The tree stays ornament-free til Chrismon Sunday.

Parents are often overwhelmed by feelings of inadequacy when it comes to leading family devotions for their families.  Here is one way a church can help parents know what to do.  In the weekly bulletin include the Scripture verses from that Sunday's Sunday school classes and/or children's church.
