Most often the reason the adults in the church family don't talk to the teens (especially those who don't have teens in their homes) is because they are simply intimidated by them.  You know teens to be strange and wonderful creatures but they just know teens to be strange creatures.  Use your weekly bulletin to pose a "safe" question for the adults to ask the teens.

Weekly or bi- weekly include one of the following questions in the bulletin with a little heading such as: "Talk to a teen member of this church family.  Ask: ______________"

Some good questions are:
What was your favorite class in school this week?  Why?
Did any drama happen in school this week?
Did you have a test this week?  A big test or chapter test?  How did you do?
Did you have a game this week?  How did your team do?  How did you do?
Were you aware of God at work in your life this week while you were at school?  Tell me what happened?
Did God answer a prayer this week?
What's the most worthwhile thing you did in the past week?
Who did you have lunch with in school this week?  Is this a new friend?  Same old crew?
What is one thing you have learned from your parents lately?
When was the last time you felt carefree?
Did you feel misunderstood this week?  If yes, do you want to talk about it?
Did you feel distant from God this week?  If yes, do you want to talk about it?
Did you feel zany this week?  If yes, tell me what caused that?
What was the hardest thing about following Jesus this week?
What is one thing you wanted to accomplish this week but didn't?  Why?
Is your homework done or are you cramming this afternoon?

Of course, you can add some of your own to the list.

For the first week, you may want to ask for a few minutes during the announcement time to explain why you want the adults to talk to the teens and how not-so-intimidating teens are.  You may also want to give your teens a heads up that they can no longer worship with the church family and be anonymous.
